Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 31, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Stonecutter Media Group, LLC, an Illinois limited liability company in good standing ("MusiciansHelper," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use musicianshelper.com and related services (the "Service"). The Service is operated by Stonecutter Media Group, LLC as an entity; individual founders, officers, or employees — including Chris Steinmetz — are not personally responsible for data handling under this policy except through their role at Stonecutter Media Group, LLC.

1. Information We Collect

  • Account information: your email address and any profile details you provide.
  • Content you submit: questions, answers, comments, votes, and contributor applications.
  • Voice input: if you ask a question by voice, your audio is processed by our transcription provider (OpenAI's GPT-4o Mini) to generate text, which is saved as part of your question.
  • Usage data: how you use the Service — pages visited, questions asked, entry point, timestamps — to monitor performance and abuse.
  • Device and technical data: IP address (stored in hashed form), browser type, and similar identifiers, collected in part via Cloudflare for security and rate-limiting.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information above to operate and improve the Service, generate AI answers, authenticate your account and enforce usage limits, monitor and prevent abuse, communicate with you about your account, and analyze aggregate usage trends. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not run advertising on the Service.

3. How We Share Information

We share information with the service providers that operate the Service — Supabase (database/authentication), Google (Gemini AI answers), OpenAI (GPT-4o Mini transcription), Cloudflare (security/CDN), Lovable (application hosting), and IONOS (domain registration) — solely to provide the Service. Questions, answers, and public profile details you choose to share are visible to other users and the general public, since content is publicly readable. We may disclose information if required by law, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information for third-party marketing.

4. Data Retention

We retain account and content data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may delete your account and associated personal data at any time using the self-serve deletion option in your profile settings.

5. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including row-level security (RLS) policies on our database and encrypted connections (TLS/SSL). No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a security incident, liability is limited to Stonecutter Media Group, LLC as the operating entity, as set out in the Limitation of Liability section of our Terms of Service; individual founders, officers, or employees are not personally liable for security incidents arising from operation of the Service.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, or export your data. You can export your data or delete your account directly from your profile settings, or contact us at chris@stonecutterrecords.com.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. International Users

Your information may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new effective date.
