Dynamic vs condenser for untreated rooms — what actually wins?

Bedroom is bright and reflective. Should I just commit to an SM7B / RE20 instead of fighting my LDC?

Yes, with one caveat: dynamics need clean, hot gain. An SM7B into a stock interface preamp will sound dull and noisy. Either get a Cloudlifter / FetHead, or pick something like an RE320 / MD421 that needs less gain. In a bad room a dynamic is almost always the right call.
