DistroKid, TuneCore, Amuse, CD Baby — which distributor?

Releasing my first single. Bewildered by the differences. What actually matters?

DistroKid if you release a lot ($23/yr unlimited). TuneCore if you want clearer publishing admin and don't release that often. Amuse if you're broke (free tier, slower). CD Baby is fine but feels dated. The actual difference between platforms is not splits — it's editorial pitch tools, customer support, and how easy it is to get off them later. Read their terms about catalog removal first.
