Focusrite Scarlett series interfaces are a popular choice for musicians recording at home on a budget.
sm 58s are great for vocals and live. the have a windscreen that reduces pops and solid rejection for the sides. An sm 57 is almost identical but has slightly different frequency response and is the ALL TIME most used mic for recording. you cant go wrong with a 57!
